Who we are
SILC (https://silc.co.za) is a South African product consultancy operated by Tristan Klement. For anything privacy-related, email hello@silc.co.za.
What we collect, and why
- Contact and enquiry details: name, email, company, budget band, timeline and your message, when you submit the contact form or talk to the site assistant. Used solely to respond to your enquiry and prepare for a call.
- Newsletter subscriptions: your email address, when you subscribe or download the playbook. Used to send occasional essays. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Assistant conversations: messages you exchange with the site assistant are stored so that, if you choose to leave your details, the context travels with your enquiry.
- Anonymous analytics: we use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Plausible) to understand aggregate site usage. No personal profiles, no cross-site tracking, no advertising cookies.
Legal basis and your rights
We process personal information under POPIA (South Africa) and, where applicable, the GDPR: on the basis of your consent and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing hello@silc.co.za.
Sharing and processors
We never sell personal information. We use a small set of processors to run this site: hosting (Vercel), database (Supabase), email delivery (Resend), AI processing for the site assistant (Anthropic), and analytics (Plausible). Each processes data only on our instructions.
Retention
Enquiries and lead records are kept while relevant to a current or prospective engagement and deleted on request. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.
Cookies
This site sets one functional cookie (a random A/B variant assignment, no personal data) and an authentication cookie for the site owner. No advertising or tracking cookies are used, which is why there is no cookie banner.
